Nuffield Bowling Club Newsletter 2017

Hello everyone; time for me to let you know a few details ready for 2017 bowling season.

The AGM is at St. Margaret’s Church Hall, Tuesday February 21st 2017; doors open 7.00pm for 7.30 start.

What’s gone on in 2016 –well we have had raffles and donations galore and this puts us in a good position for 2017. More details on the night.

Our monthly competitions raised quite a lot of money for the club and were very well attended.

 

We were lucky enough to acquire a defibrillator and have made donations of £210.00 to the people who supplied it. Sadly Jean Turton is stepping down as Treasurer, and we have a new one in the pipe-line who will be voted in at the AGM –come and find out who it is!

I am giving you details overleaf of the monthly competitions – these always start at 12.30 and end at tea time; that being whatever time it finishes- usually 5pm or later…  Refreshments will cost £2.50, throughout the season. People are asked to contribute cakes or similar items - as the main food, i.e. sandwiches etc.; will be provided by the ‘catering staff’ so that a better variety of content  will be available as many people tend to make the same thing!!!

Don’t forget to bring a raffle prize if you can manage it, our raffles are legendary. We play each competition for a trophy which gives people something to aim for.

Our annual bonfire was another huge success, as most of you know we trim the  bushes and trees in the autumn and this is a good way of getting rid of our rubbish, and meeting and catching up with our friends and fellow bowlers...
